It All Started When...
Candra Burns built her foundation by volunteering as a child for Habitat for Humanity, 4-H, and FFA in high school to learn natural resources and nursery landscaping in Grays Harbor. She started applying for scholarships and grants to go to college as she was raised low-income and first-generation. While attending Grays Harbor College, she resurrected the Natural Resources Club, interned with a forestry company, Rayonier Inc., and joined the Society of American Foresters in WA State (WSSAF). She received WSSAF Foundation's first round of scholarships in 2011. In an effort to give back to an organization that has given her so much, as the WSSAF social media communications chair 2015 - 2021 she developed creative media content across their social media platforms, researched content that promoted sustainable use of natural resources, and coordinated social media efforts at the state level with all of the chapters to raise awareness of the society. She realized her passion for media marketing through these efforts. In 2017, she joined the North American Forest Partnership as a small business member, known as #forestproud now.
In 2012, on scholarship from the Bob and Eleanor Grant trust, she interned at Seattle Audubon Society as a conservation intern. Her favorite part was creating content for the Audubon’s website. Through college, she worked in various offices to gain administrative skills and was able to work for the president of Evergreen State College. Candra took advantage of the support programs on both of her college campuses. Within five years, she earned 25 scholarships and grants claiming her a debt-free education and three degrees.
In 2018, she gave a refreshing social media speech at the International Forest Business Conference in Poland, documented the #forestproud conference in Atlanta, and taught military spouses how to use social media at a regional conference with her "Building the Future with Social Media" speech at the American's Working Around the Globe Conference at Ramstein Air Base.
In 2019, she taught social media seminar classes in Edelweiss Resort at the American’s Working Around the Globe Annual Conference to inspire spouses with "A Future with Social Media” and “LinkedIn 101" to show them how to leverage social media to achieve any goal they have. She gave "Building the Future with Social Media" at the Society of Wood Science and Technology’s International Convention in Yosemite National Park and to the Society of American Forester's National Conference in Kentucky.
In 2020, Candra had 6 trips planned and pivoted to a full #virtual business model:
Volunteered behind the scenes to do Twitter and LinkedIn for the Wisdom and Wellness Summit
Managed the social media as a marketer for the Institute of Charted Foresters: Trees, People, and Built Environment Conference

Her inspiration comes from the people who gave her hope and the people who give her hope for the future. These are the generous people who work every day to grow and help each other equally. Candra's business wishes to help others have a voice and build an online presence.
She holds two associate's degrees from GHC and a Bachelor of Science from The Evergreen State College. She is a proud military spouse with the ability to work from anywhere in the world.
